Senior 2D Artist Mobile Games

About the Role

We're a seed-funded gaming startup with one published game. We make polished casual puzzle games for players around the world. We need a Senior 2D Artist who has made stylized, warm, polished art for mobile games. You'll work on isometric environments, characters, UI, props and other game assets, and take them from first concept to final production.

What You'll Do

• Make 2D art for environments, characters, UI, backgrounds and props, from rough concepts to assets ready to go into the game.

• Keep the game's look consistent, with good composition, perspective, lighting and color, and make sure everything reads clearly on a phone screen.

• Build isometric worlds, stylized characters and easy-to-use UI for a casual audience worldwide.

• Work with the Art Director, game designers and developers to turn gameplay needs into art that works.

• Use AI tools heavily for exploring ideas, iterating and production, then refine the outputs until they match our quality and style.

• Own the art areas given to you, take part in reviews and help improve the visual quality of the whole game.

What You Need

• Professional experience in 2D art for mobile games, with a portfolio showing environments, characters and UI.

• Solid fundamentals in composition, color, lighting, perspective, form, character design and visual hierarchy.

• Experience with stylized and isometric game art, and making assets that stay clear and appealing on small screens.

• Advanced Photoshop and digital painting skills. You can take a piece from concept to a finished, production-ready asset.

• Experience making art for casual games or international mobile players.

• Hands-on work with generative AI and AI-assisted art workflows, including cleaning up AI outputs so they stay consistent with production art.

Nice to Have

• Casual, puzzle, match-3, renovation or decoration games.

• Deep use of Stable Diffusion, Flux, ComfyUI or similar AI art tools.

• Unity and mobile game art pipelines.

• Blender, 3D-to-2D workflows, Spine or other 2D animation tools.
